Russell County reports 37 new COVID cases

The Kentucky Department for Public Health reported 37 new Covid cases in Russell County this week, down from 89 cases a week ago.

Nearby Taylor County recorded the highest number of Covid cases in the Lake Cumberland district with 73.

Neighboring Wayne County had 72 cases, Pulaski reported 68 cases, Clinton County had 20, Adair County reported 19 cases, Casey had 17, and Cumberland County had 15 cases.

The state also reported 12 individuals hospitalized in the Lake Cumberland area with Covid-19. Five of those were listed as in intensive care units.

The statewide positivity rate was listed at 11.96 percent.
