Craft announces bid for Kentucky governor

The race to be the Republican nominee for governor of Kentucky continues to grow as Kelly Craft, a former United Nations Ambassador under then-President Donald Trump, announced her bid for governor on Wednesday.

Craft, who was raised in nearby Barren County, joins Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles, Attorney General Daniel Cameron, State Auditor Mike Harmon, and state Rep. Savannah Maddox in the field.

It has been widely circulated that state Sen. Max Wise, who formerly represented Russell County in the 16 senatorial district, will be Craft’s candidate for lieutenant governor.
