The Russell County Middle School Football team won in overtime in their season opener on Saturday.
The Lakers defeated Bardstown Middle School in the first annual Marlon Hoskins Memorial Kickoff by a score of 8-6 in overtime with Adrian Eads scoring the winning touchdown and two-point conversion.
The Lakers will now be back in action on Thursday at Monroe County.
