KDFWR’s summer turkey population survey begins July 1

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife’s annual summer turkey brood survey begins July 1st and runs through August 31st with three easy ways to collect record and collect turkey observations for state wildlife officials.

Local outdoor enthusiasts and turkey hunters can help officials monitor turkey populations and reproduction figures across the state by completing the survey in one of these ways:

  1. Paper Datasheet – print, write in your observations, and mail back to KDFWR on September 1st
  2. Web Page – makes entering observations easy
  3. App for Apple or Android smart phones – easy data entry on the go. (Survey Instructions for app)
