An Adair County man is facing a manslaughter charge following a fatal accident last year that claimed the life of an Adair County woman on Highway 92.
Michael Walton Scott, age 27, was arrested by Kentucky State Police yesterday and charged with manslaughter second degree and driving under the influence fourth or more offense.
Last year, Scott was involved in a collision on Kentucky 92 eight miles east of Columbia when he collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 87-year-old Mimi Bairstow.
Bairstow was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Adair County Coroner’s Office.
Scott was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail around 9:45 a.m. yesterday.
