A Wayne County man was arrested over the weekend after police were called to an apartment in Monticello about an eight-year-old boy who was reportedly very intoxicated.
According to Monticello Police, the child was transported to the emergency room at Wayne County Hospital before being transported to the University of Kentucky for further treatment.
Monticello Police arrested 50-year-old Charles Jones in the incident. Jones reportedly gave the child several shots of whiskey, according to police.
Jones is charged with wanton endangerment first degree and unlawful transactions with a minor third degree.
He was lodged in the Wayne County Jail.
