The city of Russell Springs is currently in the process of updating firefighter equipment and received word this week that they have been awarded a Kentucky League of Cities Safety Grant that had recently been applied for.
The grant is a 50/50 matching grant for PPE, which includes a fire jacket and pants for $3,000 total.
Aaron Parrish of KLC presented Mayor Eddie Thomas with the funds on Tuesday.
Garret Stephens and Ashley White of Grider Insurance were also on hand Tuesday when the funds were presented. Grider Insurance is the city’s local KLC representative.
