The Cumberland Parkway was closed for several hours due to a wreck yesterday.

According to Kentucky State Police, the wreck occurred at the 41 mile marker in the eastbound lanes between Columbia and Edmonton, closing the eastbound lanes for more than 6 hours and the westbound lanes for 2 hours.

Early reports are that a dairy truck was involved with a passenger vehicle, according to witnesses, but details about the accident have not yet been released by Kentucky State Police.

Large amounts of milk were released into a creek in Adair County, which caused the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection Emergency Response Team to respond to the scene as well.

More details will be released as they’re made available by Kentucky State Police.
