Lawson’s big night leads Lakers to win in Myrtle Beach

A big night by senior Nathan Lawson led the Laker Baseball team to a win in its first game in the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach last night.

The Lakers took on Butler High School from Vandalia, Ohio and picked up a 4-2 win.

Lawson pitched the complete game and got the win on the mound for the Lakers, giving up just 5 hits and two runs (none earned) and striking out 12 batters.

Lawson also hit a home run in his first at-bat and drove in 2 of the 4 Laker runs while going 3-3 at the plate.

Issac Roy also had a solid night at the plate, finishing 2-3 with an RBI.

With the win, the Lakers improve to 6-1 on the season.
