Herbert “Louie” Harris, age 65, of Russell Springs

Herbert Lewis “Louie” Harris, of Russell Springs, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. He was 65 years of age.

Born on November 14, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of Mazie Evalene Shepherd Harris and the late Herbert Lee Harris. Louie was a former carpet installer and a member of West 80 Church of God. He loved the Lord and his family. Louie was always a great provider for his loved ones.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and just being outdoors. He never met a stranger and was always making someone laugh and smile. No matter what he was doing, things had to be done “his way.”

Louie is survived by his wife, Norene Mann Harris of Russell Springs, whom he wed on April 28, 1978; one son, Joesph Lewis Harris (and fiancée, Sabeth Hardin) of the Millerfield Community; two daughters, Cristine Marie Harris-Luttrell of Somerset, and Mindy Evelyn Harris-Wilkerson (and Scott) of Columbia; and his mother, Mazie Evalene Harris of Cincinnati, Ohio. Louie is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Keagan, Bryson, Audrey, Jamison, Breann, Katie, Kelsea, Brailee, Christian, Erica, Alaina, Vinny, Ray Ray, and Ashtin; one great-grandson, Legend Lewis, on the way; one brother, Jerry; and five sisters, Pepper, Sharon, Jana, Pam, and Sue.

Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Shane Gaskins and Brother Scott Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Tarter Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503.
