State’s January unemployment report released

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary January 2022 unemployment rate was 4.4 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency within the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.

The preliminary January 2022 jobless rate was down 0.2 percentage points from the 4.6 percent reported in December 2021 and down 0.4 percentage points from the 4.8 percent recorded for the state one year ago.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for January 2022 was 4 percent, up from the 3.9 percent reported in December 2021, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
