Mayor Eddie Thomas requested a pay decrease from the Russell Springs City Council at last week’s council meeting.
Thomas requested that his monthly pay be decreased from $1,639 to $1,250.
This was the first reading of the ordinance. The council will vote to either approve or deny the change in pay at next month’s meeting.
Thomas also told the council he would like to have a city vehicle to use while traveling for city business.
The council will also determine when the change in pay will take effect.
