Russell County unemployment rate is 5.4%

Russell County’s unemployment rate currently sits at 5.4 percent, Adair County is 4.8 percent, Casey 4.1 percent, Pulaski 4.7 percent, Cumberland 4.1 percent, Clinton 4.8 percent, Wayne 5 percent, and Taylor County at 4 percent, according to the latest monthly figures from the Kentucky Center for Statistics, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.

Woodford County recorded the lowest jobless rate in the state at 2.9 percent while Magoffin County recorded the state’s highest unemployment rate at 13.6 percent.

Unemployment rates rose in 14 counties between January 2021 and January 2022, fell in 103, and stayed the same in Allen, Fulton, and Cumberland counties.
