The Russell County Middle School Softball team combined for a no-hitter against Wayne County Tuesday night, moving to 2-0 on the season with a 6-1 victory over the Lady Cardinals.
Madelyn Roy pitched 3 2/3 innings and striking out five batters with only one run scoring due to errors. Roy left in the 4th inning with an injury and Brylie Jo Hardwick pitched the final 2 1/3 innings, striking out 2.
The Lady Lakers picked up six runs on 8 hits in the win. Camdin Cooper led the Lady Lakers, going 3-3 at the plate. Chezney Burton and McKenzie McClure each picked up 2 RBI, and Madelyn Roy added 1 RBI.
