The Lady Lakers came back from a 3-1 deficit against Taylor County Tuesday night with a big sixth inning rally, picking up a win in the season opener by a score of 6-3.
The Lady Lakers scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pick up the win, with a Jadyn Mann double on a line drive to left field scoring two runners to give the Lady Lakers the lead.
Tarryn Reynolds and Mann both had big games for the Lady Lakers. Mann’s 2-RBI double was key in the comeback and capped off a 2-3 day at the plate. Reynolds was also 2-3 at the plate, driving in two runs.
Mady Hatchett went 2-2 at the plate and drove in one run, while also picking up two stolen bases.
Reynolds also got the win pitching for the Lady Lakers, pitching all seven innings and giving up three runs on six hits and striking out four. Reynolds shook off a slow start and only allowed two hits and no runs in the final four innings.
The Lady Lakers are back at home on Friday when they host the South Laurel Lady Cardinals at 5:30 p.m.
