While some schools across Kentucky are preemptively cancelling in-person classes for the remainder of the week, Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford says Russell County Schools will operate on regular schedule Thursday and continue to monitor the weather situation going into Friday.
The National Weather Service said they expect the rain to start freezing late this evening, so it should not impact the school schedule today.
Ford said school officials will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions throughout the day to make a decision on whether students will be in the classroom tomorrow.
