The Russell County Middle School Laker Basketball team fell in the second round of the KBC state tournament to Marnel C. Moorman Middle School from Shelbyville over the weekend.
The Lakers fell by a score of 38-30.
In the opening round, the Lakers defeated Hazard by a score of 47-24.
Maddox Shearer led the Lakers in scoring with a total of 13 points over the two games, followed by Noah Bennett and Noah McMillin each with 11, Dylan Stanelle and Kinnett Wills each with 7, Walker Stephens, Max Davis, and Adrian Eads with 6 points each, Bryson Irvin with 5, Carter Stapp with 4, and Webber Wilson with 1 point.
