U.S. Supreme Court blocks vaccine mandate for large employers

Mandate for healthcare workers remains in place

The United States Supreme Court has blocked a federal mandate which would have required employees at companies with more than 100 employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear masks and be tested weekly.

However, the court did vote in favor of a different mandate that requires workers at healthcare facilities that receive Medicare or Medicaid funds to be vaccinated.

The employer decision was a 6-3 decision, while the healthcare facilities decision was a 5-4 vote.
