The Russell County Middle School Laker Basketball team took 2 of 3 over Metcalfe County Monday night.
The 6th graders came away with a 35-24 win with Myles Davis leading the scoring at 19 points, followed by Will Coffey, Gunner Godbey, and Keenan Stille with 4 each, and Conner Davidson and Luke Walters with 2 points each.
The 8th graders also came away with a win by a score of 40-35. Max Davis led the scoring with 10 points, followed by Webber Wilson with 8, Noah McMillin with 7, Walker Stephens with 5, Maddox Shearer with 4, Noah Bennett with 3, Adrian Eads with 2, and Dylan Stanelle with 1 point.
The 7th graders came up short, falling by a score of 30-27. Tyson Stille led the scoring with 10, followed by Tanner Stringer with 9. Myles Davis added 3, Gabe Browning and Jaden Wooten finished with 2 each, and Mannix Bell added 1 point.
The Lakers will be back in action Tuesday night as they play Casey County in a game rescheduled from last week. It will also be 8th grade night.
Games start at 5 p.m.
