The Russell County Middle School Academic Team placed first overall and in Quick Recall in their district championship matchup with visiting Casey County over the weekend at the middle school. The Lakers defeated the Rebels 67-49 overall.
Roselyn Fuentes, Blair Brumett, Carleen Meyers, and Samantha Brown placed second in FPS, Blair Brumett placed first in composition, Roselyn Fuentes 5th in composition, Adrian Rara 1st Math and 1st Arts and Humanities, Asa Woodcock 3rd Math and 1st Science, Case Sneed 5th Math and 2nd Social Studies, Kamden Templin 2nd Science and 1st Social Studies, Isabelle Needham 5th Science and 4th Arts and Humanities, Ryan Stanton 3rd Social Studies, Trinity Roy Swindoll 1st Language Arts, Samantha Brown 2nd Language Arts and Carleen Meyers 5th Language Arts.
