It was a rough night for the Lakers and Lady Lakers at Barren County Friday night.
The Lady Lakers were outscored 27-11 in the second half on the way to a 54-30 defeat at the hands of Barren County.
Offensively, the Lady Lakers struggled to gain any momentum, shooting just 28.6 percent from the field and connecting on only one of 11 3-pointers, while turning the ball over 22 times.
Maleah Preston led the scoring for the Lady Lakers with 7 points, followed by Karley Luttrell and Hannah Yates with 6 points each.
The Lakers were defeated 79-45 by the Trojans.
The Trojans took a 10-point lead into halftime, and built on it in the second half by outscoring the Lakers 44-20 in the second half.
The Lakers shot 41 percent from the field, but turned the ball over 19 times and were just 2-9 on three pointers. Meanwhile, Barren County shot 50 percent from the floor, including 18-33 in the second half and were 6-13 on three pointers.
Mayes Gosser led the scoring for the Lakers with 11 points, followed by Trace Stringer and Logan Walters with 9 each.
With the losses, the Lady Lakers now sit at 6-10 and the Lakers at 1-12.
The Lady Lakers will host Casey County Tuesday night at Laker Gym at 7:30 p.m. The Lakers will be on the road for their next game at Taylor County Thursday night at 7 p.m.
