Joy Lou Cardwell, retired school teacher in the Russell County school system, died Thursday at her home in Middlesboro.
She is survived by her husband: William “Bill” Cardwell.
Two children survive: A.T and (Dave) Young of Middlesboro, and William Henry Cardwell (Leah) of Russell Springs, and a grand-daughter Lillie.
Also surviving are a brother, Larry (Rita) Gosser, and two sisters, Jane Johnson and Linda (Kenny) McFarland, all of Russell
Springs, along with a host of nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Alma Gosser.
There will be Celebration of Life service on Saturday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Russell Springs United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 a.m.
The family requests that everyone wears masks. ln lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to be made in Joy’s honor to the Gateway Christian School, 1 Gateway Drive, Middlesboro, Ky. 40955
