Dunnville woman holds intruder at gunpoint until law enforcement arrives

A Dunnville area woman held a home intruder at gunpoint until officers arrived Monday morning.

According to law enforcement, Casey County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call on Cundiff Road, off Dunnville Road, about 2.5 miles from the Dogwalk Market.

The caller, identified later as Viola Russell, told 911 that a man who also lived on Cundiff Road, identified as 54-year-old Ricky Davis, had entered a side door of her residence while she was feeding her infant child in the living room.

According to reports, she told him to leave but when he refused, she grabbed a firearm in her home and was still holding him at gunpoint in the home when law enforcement arrived.

Drugs are believed to be a factor in the incident.

Davis was lodged in the Casey County Jail on Monday and faces charges of burglary first degree and public intoxication of a controlled substance.
