Around 60 dead animals found in Nancy residence

Pulaski County law enforcement and area wildlife rescue workers made a startling discovery when they found around 60 dead animals and many others in poor condition inside a home in Nancy on Sunday.

The home on West Highway 80 in Nancy reportedly housed an individual who had taken a large number of the animals rescued from Tim’s Reptiles and Exotics in Burnside following an investigation earlier this year.

The dead animals included geckos and a number of eggs, snakes, alligator snapping turtles, a scorpion and a tarantula, according to a report from the Commonwealth Journal in Somerset.

In all, about $50,000 in animals were seized, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Charges have not been filed yet and are currently pending, according to the sheriff’s office and names of suspects are not being released until those charges are made official.

Law enforcement noted that the suspect is still being located.
