Three local students are among 30 candidates for Homecoming Queen at Western Kentucky University this Saturday.
The three local students are:
- Hannah Godby of Russell Springs, daughter of Amy Floyd and David Godby. She is a Biology major with minors in Sales and Chemistry and is sponsored by Alpha Gamma Delta and Phi Delta Theta.
- Shelby Robertson of Russell Springs, daughter of Pam and Brent Robertson. She is a Biology major and is sponsored by Alpha Epsilon Delta and WKU Student for Breast Cancer Awareness.
- Rachel Robinson of Russell Springs, daughter of Chris and Marquita Robinson. She is a Political Science and Economics major and is sponsored by Sigma Kappa and Phi Gamma Delta.
The 2021 queen will be crowned Saturday, Oct. 30, during halftime of WKU Football vs. Charlotte at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
This year’s Homecoming theme is “Wild, Wild Western.” Queen candidates will participate in activities during Homecoming Week including a fall social on Sunday, an interview on Tuesday, a banquet on Wednesday, a volunteer experience on Thursday and the Homecoming parade/Big Red’s Roar on Friday. WKU students will cast their votes for queen in online balloting on Monday.
