The Russell County Board of Education approved a working budget for the 2022 Fiscal Year at a meeting of the board this week.
This budget is what the school district uses for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.
Revenues and expenditures were at $25 million.
“This is probably the healthiest, most robust budget that the board of education has had in 15 years,” Superintendent Michael Ford said.
Ford said a major difference-maker was the legislature passing full-day funding for Kindergarten.
Federal stimulus money has also made a big difference for the budget.
“We’re positioned very well for the remainder of the school year,” Ford said.
