KFC will be locating in Russell Springs with tentative plans for the restaurant to be open in December.
City leaders made the announcement at Thursday’s city council meeting, the culmination of multiple years of discussion and planning with the company.
KFC will locate where Long John Silvers currently is on Lacy Drive in Russell Springs. Long John Silvers closed earlier this week.
Mayor Eddie Thomas said the city is expected to announce more economic development news in the coming months.
Also at Thursday’s city council meeting, the council voted unanimously to keep city tax rates the same on real property, motor vehicles, and motorboats.
