Russell County has had more than 2,000 COVID cases

Russell County has had more than 2,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic last year.

The Lake Cumberland District Health Department has recorded 2,067 confirmed cases in Russell County during that time.

The health department has recorded 48 COVID-19 related deaths in the county, which equates to about 2.32 percent of the number of cases.

The county had 79 active cases as of the last report, with three of those individuals being hospitalized.
