A new report issued by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department states that a recent audit from the state has confirmed a previously unreported COVID-19 death in Russell County, the 48th COVID-19 related death in the county since the start of the pandemic.
The individual was listed as 78 years old, but no gender was included in the report.
The new health department report issued Tuesday states that six new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Russell County since Friday. There are now 31 active cases in the county. All are self-isolated.
There are currently 468 active cases district-wide and 27 people hospitalized. Pulaski County has the most active cases with 179, followed by Adair with 52 and Taylor with 49.
