The Kentucky Board of Education approved an emergency regulation requiring masks to be worn in public schools for the next 270 days.
This emergency regulation would remain in place without the existence of a mask mandate from the Governor’s office.
The KBE ruling applies only to public schools within the state of Kentucky, and the board could revisit the issue if the CDC or Kentucky Board of Health were to change their recommendation on mask-wearing in schools.
