Carolyn Wright, age 71, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Carolyn was born on June 16, 1950 in in Pulaski County to the late Clarence “Slick” Weddle and Ruby Roy Weddle. She was a member of Smiths Grove Baptist Church. Carolyn was a Christian and very strong in her faith. She was a former hairstylist for about fifteen years. Carolyn enjoyed cooking, crafts and especially spending time with her grandbabies (and was better known as “La-La” to Shay and Tay).
She is survived by a daughter, Ammra Wright of Somerset; a son, Jordan Shane (and Rebecca) Wright of Somerset; a special nephew, Waylon (and Melinda) Wright of Jamestown; six grandchildren, Emma Grace Wright, Owen Stewart Wright, Nolan B. Wright, Laine D. Wright, Shaylee N’Kae Richardson and Taydon Jae Richardson; a brother, Ronnie (and Drucilla) Weddle of Portland, TN; and a sister, Wanda (and Terrill) Harper of Nancy.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herald Lee Wright, whom she married on July 7, 1968 in Mt. Victory and he preceded her on June 15, 2017; and a sister, Betty Wright Clifton.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 5:00pm EST until 8:00pm EST at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 11:00am EST at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Robertson and Bro. Andy Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanley Richardson, Jordan Wright, Waylon Wright, Owen Wright, Matt Wiggington, Glen Whitis, David Bernard and Bro. Andy Robertson.
