Grand jury hands down indictments

A Russell County grand jury handed down indictments Tuesday.

Those indicted included the following individuals:

  • David Passmore, 43, of Russell Springs, on charges of burglary third degree, theft by unlawful taking over $500, wanton endangerment first degree, and being a persistent felony offender.
  • George Polston, 59, of Jamestown, on charges of bail jumping first degree and being a persistent felony offender.
  • Rhonda Thorpe, 57, of Jamestown, on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, wanton endangerment first degree (two counts), criminal mischief first degree, and no insurance. Also indicted on charges of reckless driving, fleeing or evading police first degree, criminal mischief second degree, operating on a suspended license, and driving under the influence third offense.
  • Travis Passmore, 26, of Russell Springs, on a charge of bail jumping first degree.
  • Nicolette Hare, 29, of Russell Springs, on a charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500.
  • Dustin Daniels, 36, of Russell Springs, on charges of speeding 26 mph or more over the limit, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police first degree, wanton endangerment first degree, no registration plates, no registration receipt, impersonating a peace officer, terroristic threatening third degree, and failure to notify address change.
  • David Smith, 51; Ronald J. Sharp, 44; and Felisha Mann, 34, all of Russell Springs, along with Harley D. Russell, 26, of Monticello on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, receiving a stolen firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. Russell faces an additional indictment of tampering with physical evidence. Smith faces an additional indictment of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Sharp faces additional indictments on possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and being a persistent felony offender.
  • Jeffrey Newland, 35, of Russell Springs, on charges of fleeing or evading police first degree (two counts), resisting arrest, operating on a suspended license, wanton endangerment first degree (two counts), assault third degree (two counts), possession of methamphetamine, and being a persistent felony offender.
  • Jesse Brown, 31, an inmate at the Russell County Detention Center, on charges of assault second degree and assault fourth degree, as well as being a persistent felony offender.
  • Perry Bishop, 26, of Russell Springs, on charges of criminal trespassing first degree, burglary second degree, burglary third degree, theft by unlawful taking over $500, criminal mischief first degree, and being a persistent felony offender. Also indicted on a second charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500.
  • Patricia Reed, 53, of Liberty, on charges of failure to wear a seat belt, operating on a suspended license, driving under the influence second offense, trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in marijuana under 8 ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being a persistent felony offender.
  • Trevante Garris, 27, of Jamestown, on charges of trafficking in marijuana under five pounds, disorderly conduct second degree, resisting arrest, and being a persistent felony offender.
