Russell County Industrial Development Authority Executive Director Bennie Garland is stepping away from his position as the county’s economic development leader.
Garland cited family health issues as one of his reasons for resignation. He also cited a belief that it was time for the IDA Board to bring in a new director with a different set of skills to lead the county’s economic development efforts forward.
Garland said he wishes the IDA the best moving forward and said he’s excited to see the next economic developments in the county.
