Sunday proclaimed as Neva C. Bernard Day

Sunday, July 4, has been proclaimed as Neva C. Black Bernard Day in Russell County by Judge Executive Gary Robertson.

Full text of the proclamation below.

Whereas, Neva C. Black Bernard was born to Walter Green Black and Vandie Frost Black on  July 4, 1920, and  

Whereas, Neva C. Black was married on November 28, 1936 to Buel Bernard and from this  union they had two daughters, and  

Whereas, Neva C. Black Bernard was a very upstanding and active citizen in her community  of Russell Springs, Russell County, Kentucky, and was known all throughout the county for  her willingness to serve where needed, and  

 

Whereas, Neva C. Black Bernard will always be remembered as the former owner of the  Jamestown Creamy Whip. A place were all families enjoyed going for her sweet treats, and    

Whereas, on July 4, 2021 Neva C. Black Bernard will celebrate her 101st birthday, 

Now, Therefore, I, Gary D. Robertson, Russell County Judge Executive of Russell County,  Kentucky, do hereby proclaim July 4, 2021 as Neva C. Bernard Day in honor of a beloved  wife, mother, grandmother and servant to the community of Russell County, Kentucky.
