Lakers clinch top spot in district with win

The Russell County Lakers picked up a district win on the road at Clinton County last night by a score of 5-3, clinching the top spot in the 16th District.

Nick Aaron picked up the win on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three runs on five hits and striking out eight batters.

Nathan Lawson entered the game in relief, picking up the final three outs to secure the victory and keep the Lakers undefeated in district play at 6-0.

Lawson and CJ Vonfumetti drove in one run each for the Lakers.

The Lakers are now 18-4 on the season overall.
