Viola Williams, age 87, of Russell Springs

Viola Williams, of Russell Springs, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow.  She was 87 years of age.

Born March 22, 1934, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Linnie Mae Hardwick Johnson.  Viola worked for Fruit of the Loom for 30 years.  She was of the Christian faith. Viola enjoyed gardening and loved animals.

Survivors include two daughters, Eva Kay Leach and Sandra Reeder; two sons, Larry (and Michele) Leach, and Kevin (and Mary Ann) Williams, all of Russell Springs; a brother, Max (and Sandy) Johnson of Louisville; three sisters, Bonnie Redmon of Illinois, Linda (and Donald) Cooper, and Helen Pedigo, both of Russell Springs; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Richardson of Bowling Green, Jessica (and Ted) Gray of Indiana, Jennifer (and Dewayne) King of Somerset, Derek (and Angela) Reeder of Smiths Grove, Kyle (and Rachel) Reeder, Andrea Williams (and James Turner), Adam (and Sarah) Williams, and Alyson (and Garrett) Lawless, all of Russell Springs; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Johnson; and a great-grandchild, Hailey Davis.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, April 2, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home with Brother Billy Dunbar officiating.  Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Bernard Funeral Home from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday, April 2, 2021.

Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance.  Facial coverings are required.
