Winter Storm Alert

Good afternoon everyone, I am wanting to push out a quick update as things have been changing weather wise throughout the day. As I mentioned this morning things were tending more southward toward our area for the chance to see some ice accumulations and that is continuing to be the case. Here’s the latest future radar…

This is a real concern because ice accumulating on power lines, trees, and roadways can just cause so many issues. I want to show you something very concerning and this is projected ice accumulation totals…

Folks, this is very concerning because we are talking about totals close to a inch which is extremely significant. Now I was on a conference call with the National Weather Service in Louisville this afternoon and they said this does have bust potential which means we may not see much at all which is what we want. They have gone ahead and issued an Ice Storm Warning that does include Russell County and that will go into effect at midnight. We certainly hope that this changes for the better, but now would be a good time to make sure you have things ready should we have significant ice that results in power outages or having to stay at home a few days. We are monitoring this closely and will keep you up to date.
