Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston says he will be seeking another term in office.
Polston, midway through his first four-year term as Russell County Sheriff, announced on Facebook that he plans to seek re-election to the position, which will be on the ballot next year.
“Russell County Citizens, we will be signing those Candidate For Russell County Sheriff papers again this November 2021!!” Polston wrote on his Facebook page.
The race for sheriff will be one of several local offices on the ballot in 2022. Many candidates for those offices will begin filing their paperwork for the 2022 elections this November.
There are no regular elections in Kentucky this year.
