LCDHD getting more COVID-19 vaccine doses

The Lake Cumberland District Health Department will receive 4,000 doses of 1st/prime dose COVID-19 vaccine spread out over the next three weeks for administration by local health departments.

This will be for people in Phase 1a or 1b including those 70 and older.

Appointments will be taken by phone beginning on Monday, February 8 at 8 a.m. CT. The health department says do not call early and do not leave your information on the answering machines. They are not keeping waiting lists.

“We do expect to fill all 4,000 appointment slots within the first few hours,” the health department said in a statement. “We plan to have 30 phone lines open and 15 to 20 operators. However, we know the demand will be greater than the supply. We apologize in advance for not being able to accommodate everyone.”
