Lavada Marcella Gossage, age 84, formerly of Russell Springs

Lavada Marcella Gossage, of Bargersville, Indiana, formerly of Russell Springs, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. She was 84 years of age.

Born on January 15, 1937, in Shelbyville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lavada Ray. She married James Bruce Gossage, there were four children born to their union. Lavada was a long-time member of Royville Community Church of Russell Springs. She loved to sing gospel music with the Gossage family, going around and singing in different churches.

Lavada was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to go fishing and “yard-sale-ing” with her sons-in-law. Lavada and her husband, Bruce, would enjoy attending car shows.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy Gossage (and Sherry), of Russell Springs, Jan Shepherd (and Victor) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Pam Searing (and Bob), of Burlington, and Penny Withers (and Danny), of Russell Springs; her brother, Edward Ray, Jr., of Shelbyville, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents; she is preceded in death by her husband, James Bruce Gossage.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmy Polston officiating. Burial will be in Rexroat Cemetery. Lavada’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. CST on Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel until time for services.

Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required.
