Russell County High School Lakers pitcher/First Baseman Nathan Lawson announced that he will play baseball at Eastern Kentucky University Monday night.
“I am blessed to announce that I am continuing my academic and baseball career at Eastern Kentucky University,” Lawson wrote on Twitter Monday night. “Thank you to all of my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me this far.”
Lawson is among the top-ranked juniors in the state of Kentucky with a fastball topping out at 89 miles per hour.
Recently, he took the mound for Team Kentucky in the Border Battle against Team Tennessee and pitched for Team Kentucky in a tournament in Panama City, Florida, earning rave reviews with each performance.
Nathan is the son of Barry and Nena Lawson.
