Jamestown City Council met Thursday evening

The Jamestown City Council met in regular session Thursday evening.

County Attorney Kevin Shearer presented the council with an interlocal agreement addressing homelessness within the community. We’ll have more details about that agreement in an upcoming story on Lakercountry.com. The council approved $1,500 to go into that agreement, which will also include the City of Russell Springs and the county.

Shearer updated the city council about the ongoing water project and applauded Cumberland Pipeline for their work. He said work on the project is going well, and slightly ahead of schedule, noting that the project is roughly 85 percent complete.

“Cumberland Pipeline has been outstanding and just absolutely knocked it out of the park,” Shearer said.

Shearer credited a decision two years ago to purchase a GPS tracking system that is able to locate and mark lines, making the project significantly easier.

Shearer also noted that Jamestown City Hall will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
