Dr. Michael Carter, president of Campbellsville University, announced his upcoming retirement from the university.
Carter has served as president for 22 years at Campbellsville University, a popular higher-education destination for many Russell County students.
Dr. Carter and his wife, Debbie, announced their last day with the university will be Dec. 31.
The CU Board of Directors are immediately beginning the search for the next president of the university.
