The Russell County vs. Butler County football game scheduled for tonight has been cancelled, according to Russell County High School Athletics Director Michael Carpenter.
The cancellation is due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in the state of Kentucky and the region.
Carpenter said due to the game not being a district contest, the game isn’t expected to be rescheduled.
Russell County is scheduled to play its final district game next Friday night at Finley Field against Allen County – Scottsville.
Any tickets purchased for the game against Butler County will be honored next week.
