In middle school girls basketball action on Thursday, the RCMS girls teams defeated Metcalfe County at the middle school gym. In the 7th grade game, Russell County won 40 to 9 as Carigann Carpenter had 16 points. In the 8th grade game, the Lakers also won, defeating Metcalfe 45 to 38 behind Aniyah Coffey’s 11 points.
