Lane widths reduced on Hwy 127 near Wolf Creek Dam

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that lanes widths have been reduced on U.S. 127 in Russell County, south of the Wolf Creek Dam, as crews continue rock slide repair project.

Crews have started rock removal work on U.S. 127 and have reduced lane widths to 10’ beginning at mile point 1.3 and ending at mile point 1.5.

In addition, motorists may encounter longer than normal stoppage times during this phase of work. Traffic will be controlled by the temporary traffic signals currently in place. However, when necessary for safety and debris removal, flaggers will stop traffic in both directions which could result in a stoppage of 15-30 minutes.

Work is scheduled to be completed in late spring 2021.

The work and date may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
