COVID-19 case connected to middle school

Russell County Schools released a letter to parents of Russell County Middle School students Sunday, stating that a student who attended school on Thursday and Friday tested positive with COVID-19 on Sunday.
The school said the health department has been notified and contact tracing protocols will be in place.
The school also said that they believe there was minimal exposure and no action is required by parents, unless they are contacted by the health department.
Russell County is still listed in the red category and the school district has switched to virtual learning until further notice.
Below is the letter sent to RCMS parents.
