A Russell County man was arrested yesterday afternoon on drug trafficking charges. Sheriff Derek Polston reports that a drug trafficking investigation by his office resulted in the arrest of 56 year old Scotty Hopper from the Salem Community of Russell County. Hopper was Charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree 1st offense Methamphetamine, and also Trafficking in Marijuana less than eight ounces. The investigation, being led by Deputy Kenny Perkins, continues and more arrests may be forthcoming.
