Three New COVID-19 Cases in Russell County

Public health officials continue to say COVID-19 is far from being over, and that is certainly proving true in Russell County.

County Judge-Executive Gary Robertson announced yesterday that Russell County has three more confirmed cases of the virus.   The three most recent confirmations are a 19-year-old male a 41-year-old female, and a 69-year-old male, all have had previous contact with other persons who have tested positive in recent days.

The three new cases bring the county’s total number of active cases to 10 after three cases were released Thursday. Robertson said 9 are currently on home self-isolation and one is hospitalized.

So far, Russell County has had a total of 50 confirmed COVID-19 cases.   33 have recovered fully and there have been 4 deaths

All persons are again reminded of the importance of repeatedly and constantly washing hands, wearing a facial mask or covering, and keeping social distance of six fee from other persons.
