RC Woman Involved in Wreck in Adair County

A Russell County woman escaped serious injury following a two vehicle accident Monday morning in Columbia. According to reports, the accident occurred when 55-year-old Melissa Moreland of Russell Springs, who was operating a 2006 Volvo, was attempting to cross Greensburg Road onto the bypass and pulled into the direction of travel of a UPS delivery truck being operated by David Burton, 45, of Campbellsville. Columbia City Police say Burton attempted to avoid contact but was struck in the side, resulting in both vehicles being inoperable.

All parties involved in the accident waived transport by ambulance on the scene, including an adult female passenger with Moreland.
